No rules, new fragrance by Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie is about to launch her second fragrance - No rules.
It is a blend of Mediterranean orange flower, purple jasmine, Turkish almond blossom, Madagascar vanilla extract, Balinese frangipani and Brazilian coconut water.
The perfume is housed in a lavender bottle and was inspired by Nicole's fascination for the '60s and the '70s:
"I try not to go by any rules, especially when I’m talking about mixing prints,"she says. "I’m so inspired by the ’60s and ’70s, and their rule was that there were no rules."

Nicole's Pinterest board for InStyle

Nicole created a Pinterest board for InStyle featuring the inspirations behind her debut fragrance "Nicole": Seville orange, cashmere, Moroccan rose, lily of the valley, sandalwood, blackberry, vanilla.
"I grew up with a mom who loved beauty. I have many memories of watching her get ready as she layered her oils and lotions, and this fragrance is a scent that I associate with her", she told InStyle.

Nicole by Nicole Richie

I'm a perfume junkie and I am so excited that my fashion icon is launching her own scent.
This perfume, Nicole said, was inspired by the layered scents her mother wore when she was a child, which she describes as a combination of oils and lotions.
"I have a very traditional Southern mom — you never left the house without lotion. Over her lotion went oil and perfume — she was very put together from head to toe. It wasn’t just a one-dimensional smell — there were many different layers", Nicole said during a phone interview with WWD.
Nicole by Nicole Richie opens with notes of blackberry and Seville orange, has a heart of golden amber, Moroccan rose, lily of the valley and papyrus, and a drydown of sensual cashmere woods, sandalwood sugared patchouli and vanilla.
Dues in September, the scent will be sold in about 2,000 department and specialty stores in the U.S., including Macy’s, Nordstrom and Dillard’s. Nicole said she will be doing multiple personal appearances, including a Macy’s event.
Nicole by Nicole Richie will also be available in the U.K. and Australia as eau de parfum in two sizes, 1.7 oz. for $55 and 3.4 oz. for $69,  6.7-oz. body lotion, $35, and a 6.7-oz. bath and shower gel, $28.
The Art Deco-inspired bottle was created with designer Dale Brandon Kan.
"I wanted to create a very intricate bottle that was still elegant, but not so in-your-face girly at the same time", Nicole said.
